Cloud Journey Unlocked: Lokafy's Success Story with Google Cloud Platform

The Challenge:

Lokafy wished to adopt a DevOps approach for their existing infrastructure and sought to utilize AWS CodeCommit and Jenkins as their source code repository and CI/CD management tool. The main challenge was to ensure seamless access to Cloud SQL and third-party tools, such as AWS CodeCommit and Jenkins, for all cloud-based services across various environments.

The solution:

Lokafy's web application was already hosted on a serverless platform, Cloud Run, while data services were managed through Cloud SQL. After conducting several POCs and tests, we successfully deployed the DevOps environment and established seamless connections between the services and third-party tools using Service Accounts. Additionally, we identified that the production Cloud SQL server was being underutilized. To optimize costs, we scaled down the server to the required configuration.

About

Lokafy empowers travelers to forge meaningful connections and build new friendships. The name "Lokafy" derives from the Hindi word "Lok," meaning people, and the suffix "-fy," signifying the act of creating or making. By emphasizing the importance of the individuals encountered during travel, Lokafy aims to shift the focus from merely exploring places to truly engaging with people.

Partner role in the project:

As a Google partner, Evonence provided us with advanced solutions that addressed the need for more refined and effective infrastructure modernization, as well as a cutting-edge DevOps (CI/CD) approach, enabling infrastructure optimization.

The Result:

By scaling down the underutilized Cloud SQL server, we were able to reduce its cost by half. To optimize billing, the Cloud SQL server was shared with the Dev and Staging environments of the customer's GCP projects. The customer expressed satisfaction with the DevOps environment and the overall approach to infrastructure modernization

Customer Testimonial:

I'm the founder of a travel startup and have been working with the Evonence team for a few months now, and I feel lucky that I've gotten to have them as our Google Cloud partner! Evonence came in, took a good look at our setup, and figured out the best way to help us move forward. What's even better is how fast they respond. They're quick to get back to us, and they always explain what they're doing in a way that's easy to understand. They stick to their promises and provide updates along the way during the project, so it's easy to see where we are and what's left to do. Knowing that Evonence has our back gives me peace of mind. It's clear they're a team we can trust to take care of our tech stuff, so we can focus more on growing our business. If you're in need of Google Cloud services, I highly recommend them.
