If you are willing to switch to G Suite services or you are existing G Suite customer, some questions about security of your information may have arisen in your mind,as your all company email and your organisation documents(data) are stored in Cloud(Google Server).

And for accessing this all data including emails, you need a strong password for your account.

Data moving within Google’s data centres(server) is encrypted using perfect encryption method. With it`s secrecy, breaking an encryption key would not do a hacker any good.

So, what’s a hacker or other would-be intruder to do? As with many web applications that have hardened data center security, the easiest access point for a hacker may well be the login screen and your password.

Here we will suggest you few options which will make sure your account is safe.

Add an extra layer of security- Enable G Suite 2-Step Verification

2-step verification has to be set up by a G Suite administrator. It can be made either optional for users or enforced for all users. Once 2-step verification has been enabled by a G Suite administrator, as a user, you can enable the option for your account by going into My Account > Signing Into Google > 2-Step Verification.

What if you’re traveling overseas and lose your mobile phone? No problem, you can have a backup mobile number.

What if you both lose your mobile phones or you’re both out of a mobile coverage area? No problem, you can generate a list of one-time use codes that you can keep in your wallet or store in a cloud application that’s completely separate from G Suite.

There are additional options for accessing G Suite when 2-Step Verification is enabled.

Google Authenticator

If you set up 2-Step Verification using SMS text message or Voice call and also want to be able to generate codes using the Android, iPhone, or a Blackberry, you can use the Google Authenticator app to receive codes even if you don’t have an Internet connection or mobile service.For this you need to install this Google Authenticator app in your smart device.

Use a Physical Security Key

Within 2-Step Verification, you can also purchase and use a physical security key.

Using a security key does not supersede the ability to use a verification code – it’s just that using a security key in place of a verification code provides an additional layer of security.With some basic steps, you as a user can make an already secure cloud application even more secure.

Chrome Add-on Password alert : Password Alert helps protect against phishing attacks.

If you enter your Google Account password or G Suite password into anywhere other than Google's sign-in page, you’ll receive an alert, so you can quickly change your password if needed.
Password Alert also checks each page you visit to see if it's impersonating Google's sign-in page, and alerts you if so.Password Alert take effect once Password Alert will initialize itself the next time you enter your password into accounts.google.com.Password Alert doesn’t store your password or keystrokes- instead, it stores a secure thumbnail of your password, which it compares against a thumbnail of your most recent keystrokes within Chrome.

If you are using Password Alert in a Google Account, Password Alert does not send any data from your local computer. If your Google for Work administrator chooses to deploy Password Alert across your domain, the administrator will receive alerts when Password Alert triggers.

Password Alert only operates inside the Chrome web browser when JavaScript is enabled. Password Alert doesn't protect Chrome Apps or Chrome Extensions, and it only protect incognito tabs if configured at chrome://extensions. It also does not protect passwords for non-Google services.
